Until July 2020, the Ministry of Agriculture’s Budget Reaches 44%

Jakarta – In 2020 the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) receives a budget of Rp 14.06 trillion. Minister of Agriculture (Minister of Agriculture) Syahrul Yasin Limpo said, as of July 3, 2020, the realization was only 44.03%.”Realization until July 3, 2020 after entering the outstanding contract component of Rp. 6.19 trillion or 44.03%,” Syahrul said in a working meeting (Raker) with Commission IV of the Indonesian Parliament, in Jakarta, Tuesday (7/7) 2020).

In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture also allocated Rp 2.65 trillion to handle the COVID-19 pandemic in the agricultural sector. The budget is allocated for the program as follows:

  1. COVID-19 Transmission Prevention Support of Rp. 40.42 billion.
  2. Security of Food Availability in the amount of Rp. 1.46 trillion.
  3. Social Safety Net, mostly in the form of labor-intensive Rp. 1.15 trillion.

For the Social Safety Net program, as of the end of June 2020 the realization reached 45.58%. Syahrul said, the realization of the Social Safety Net will continue to be accelerated within the remaining six months.

The Ministry of Agriculture also allocated a budget of Rp 1.46 trillion for Food Security. Until the end of June 2020, the realization reached 40.48%.
